Back to the Future

 August 23, 1981
 Dear Diary,
Today started off terribly. My alarm clock didn't go off and I was late for class. I quickly threw on my acid wash jeans and my Members Only Jacket and rushed out the door. Just as I arrived on campus, my pager went off. It was my friend Amy checking to find out where I was. Two minutes later, I slipped in my seat next to her and said, "hey, what's up?". Then Mr.Curry started writing something rad on the chalkboard. After class, we got into Amy's Chrysler Imperial and went to Mickey D's for some grindage. I ordered a McD.L.T. and fries and Amy ordered a McRib. After we left, we stopped for gas, It cost $1.25 per gallon. We cruzed back to my dorm and watched the Smurfs, listened to Milli Vanilli, and played with my rubics cube. When Amy left, I worked on my project on my PC using my Microsoft software MS-DOS. It took forever. Once I was done, it was time to get ready for the party. This was to be the party of the century, I was stoked. I wore a hot pink mini skirt and polka dot legwarmers with black laced gloves. Amy picked me up  around 10 and we were on our way. When we got inside, we heard house music and we saw people slam dancing. We danced all night and had an awesome time before bouncing. When we got back to the dorm, I got in my bed and thought about my totally tubular day and fell asleep.

Big Foot Tutorial!!!!

Before I started the skunk ape tutorial, I did not know much about the library and its resources. It really opened my eyes to the new ways to do research and how to find things on my own. I already knew everything about plagiarism. I did not know about scholarly publications and popular periodicals. I understand the difference, I just did not know there was a name for them. The only thing I think I need to know about performing basic research is finding books in the library. So for that part, I will definitely need to ask the librarian. I will also try using the library catalog, research databases, and internet search engines. I already mentioned two things I did/ did not know. Two other things I did not know about was the information gap and how many resources that I could use. Two other things I did know were how to use google to find resources and how to cite my sources.

My Ambitions for Life

1. Finish school
2. Find a good job
3. Find the perfect man
4.Start a family
5.Travel

The first thing I want to accomplish in my life, is to finish school. College is very important and it is the key to my success. Through school I will be able to get better jobs and better opportunities. I am not sure what I want to be right now but I know I want to be successful!

After I finish school, I will find a job that matches my major. I am majoring in communications right now but I recently decided to change it. I'm not sure what I am changing it to but I have a few ideas I am exploring now. I am going to make sure I get a job that I love. Too many people wake up in the morning and never want to get out of bed because they hate their jobs. I am not going to let that happen to me.

Next, I want to find the "man of my dreams". I don't believe anyone is perfect but if I love someone enough I will be able to except the things that are not so perfect about them.

Then, I want to start a family. I don't think I will ever change my mind about having children unless I am not financial stable enough to afford them. I want a big family because in my house it is only me and my brother. When I was little, I always wished my parents would have more kids so I would have more brothers and sisters to play with.

When I am married and I have children, I want to travel and see places besides the United States. I have been to Mexico and Puerto Rico but I want to see more of the world like Europe or Spain. I can not wait to explore the world with my family. I think it will be a great experience.

Finally, after all of these things happen or even some I will consider my life a success. I do not see my "Big Five for Life" changing. I believe these will be my life long goals. I am not sure they will happen in this order though. As long as most of them happen, I will be happy!

Homework :( Is it really that bad?

Students usually can't wait to get out of class. What they usually can wait for is the homework that awaits them when they get home. Students usually think homework takes too long and it is boring but is it honestly that bad? My argument is ethical because homework helps you practice and remember what you learned in class. For example, with math you have to keep practicing until you get it right. When teachers assign reading homework students usually think "Yay no homework!". This is definitely the wrong approach because that material that you didn't read is going to be discussed in class. So if you don't read it you are going to be a little confused in class the next day. Although homework can be tedious sometimes, it is very important if you want to do well in any class.
