Extra Credit Blog

The changes I decided to make when I found out my carbon footprint were to fly less and recycle more. I was successful in the flying less part but I did not recycle like I should have. My parents recycle at home so you would think that I was used to doing it. I forgot sometimes and I was lazy about separating things. It was not hard at all to recycle, I just didn't take it as seriously as I should have. One thing that I will do in the fall to help save the planet is keep up with my recycling! I'm going to not be lazy this time and actually do it. I am also going to not drive around as much if it isn't necessary. I will also try to car pool.

Squealing Pigs!

The Geico commercial with the pig really irritates me! He is so annoying. It really doesn't make me want to buy the product. I understand it but it really has nothing to do with Geico. The pig squeals all the way home. It comes from a nursery rhyme. The purpose of it is to make you want to buy that kind of insurance. It is supposed to target people with cars. Personally, I think it is supposed to be funny but it is a waste of time because it doesn't make people want to buy the product; it just makes them laugh. The only thing that is good about it is it catches your attention. Their is nothing wrong with Geico or their other commercials I just can't stand this one.

My Global Footprint

A footprint is what we leave on the earth. It can be helpful or harmful. It relates to the broader concept of sustainability because depending on what kind of footprint you use it  helps us figure out whether or not we can endure and keep going on the way were going.  Until about two minuets ago, I never realized  how much I was killing our planet. I use 5.7 planet earths and 25.5 global acres. A way that I can reduce my global footprint is by recycling and not flying on planes as much. I choose these two things because they are easy and they will help make a big difference!
